Back to school is around the corner and now is the time to get started on your back to school shopping. Below you’ll find tips to help you save money this back to school season.

1. Take Inventory

Take inventory of what you have at home that is still in good condition to be used for the upcoming school year. Things like binders, backpacks, and lunch pail in good condition can be passed down from an older sibling to a younger one.

2.Make a List

Make a detailed list of everything each child needs for the school year. Each child needs specific things so make sure you’r

e buying exactly what they need and not the things they want.

3.Make a Budget

Make your budget well in advance, and stay within it. Opt to pay for things in cash instead of bankcard so you can see how much you’re really spending.

4.Sales and Coupons

Look out for clothing sales and start collecting coupons to help save some extra money while back to school shopping.

5.Shop Off-Season

Some of the best deals for back to school can be found NOT during the back to school shopping season. Keep your eyes open all year round for sales on clothing, and school supplies. Save those items until it’s time for back to school and you’ll see how much you’ll save!

6.Kids at Home

You’ve probably heard that you should leave your kids at home when you’re grocery shopping, well the same applies for back to school shopping. Shopping alone can help you get done quickly and avoid distractions. When the kids tag along try to focus on buying low-ticket items like pens, and pencils.

We hope these tips help to make your back to school shopping as easy and budget friendly as possible.
